Drafted by Green Bay in 1998, Matt paid his dues backing up
one of the best players of his generation, Brett Favre. After
being traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2001 and playing most
of the next two years as the starting quarterback, Matt won
the starting job for good in 2003—and won over the entire
league with his inspired play. In 2004, Hasselbeck was named
to the Pro Bowl, setting an even loftier standard for himself.
Matt’s perseverance and dedication have placed him among
the NFL’s elite and he proved his worth this year by
guiding the Seahawks to an NFC West title and a berth in the
playoffs. With a winning attitude and a commitment to training,
Hasselbeck strives to constantly improve. “Every year,
every week you’ve got to train yourself,” Hasselbeck
said. “That’s the challenge. No matter what you
feel like on Monday, you have to do something,” said
Hasselbeck.
