Triathlete Justin Daerr is already making waves in the world
of competitive distance racing at the tender age of 23. Last
year he posted the fastest time for an American amateur at
the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon. He has also placed first in
the 18-24 age group at the Florida Ironman and was the USA
Triathlon regional collegiate champion in 2003. Daerr makes
sure that his regimen is always changing in order to challenge
his body and test his limits. ”The body adapts to routine
so there always need to be some shift in training in order
to produce an overload,” says Daerr. “I do consistently
train with a high amount of aerobic volume most of the year.
As my priority races approach, I start to incorporate more
intensity at, and above, race pace.” The coming year
will be a busy one for Daerr as he trains as one of the newest
members of Team EAS.
